Confessions of a Coffee Kinda Gal

I want you in a way that I sometimes want coffee.

I don’t always crave for the taste of coffee. Sometimes, I like juice. I just like the sour taste and how it tingles my taste buds. But in those times, especially in my mornings, I choose coffee.

Coffee relaxes me. It gives me the comfort that, when I start my mornings with it, I will be taken cared of. In the right way. It wakes me up, gets me ready for my day. And there is no inhibition. I just know that even though coffee is not what I’m always craving 100% of the time, coffee is the right choice.

I can be productive after coffee. I can move as it helps me grow towards my day, gives me rhythm and motivation. Coffee helps me.

The taste of coffee lingers in my mouth, reminds me of the warm embrace that it once held me with. Coffee reminds me that I am loved, that I am cared for, that I am important– at least important enough to invest in or to exist for. Coffee lives to serve me. But, coffee also lives to wake me up from whatever bullcrap I am in or have gotten myself into.

I find myself always choosing coffee. Even though it is not my impulse. Even when I do not crave for it. Because coffee gives me the peace that I need.
