how can i blame you?

Complacency became your shade
The comfort after the tears you cried at night
I’ve known you begged for things to be right

But you cannot expect me to stay amidst this dysfunction
It’s not humane
Don’t keep blaming what’s not profane
For it is His eyes I see with

How can I blame you?
When you’ve been stuck in seemingly endless cycle
Of past generations who only knew how to cover up for men
Men who do not know how to love
Who end up loving themselves
— More than the One Who made them

How can I blame you?
When you’re a victim yourself
Dare not spread any more hate, self
But dare not hide any more pain

You are who you have at the end of the day

Dare not hide any more pain
