love like christ

Chaos and mayhem. There is disorder in the so-called “order”. Where people are at war within themselves. And the default is to think just to survive.

Thinking can actually be burdensome. As an intellectual at a certain level, I’ve made it a habit to think– to rationalize to get the best possible outcome. To be strict with my analysis and what I say and how I say it. Everything just needs to be perfect and I’ve always needed to think for myself.

I can say that it’s easy to get lost in the whirlwind of it all. To let my mind rationalize until it drops and to force any form of control over a situation because of the climate.

Ephesians 3:19

“and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

Ephesians 3:19 claims that the love of Christ surpasses knowledge.

The love of God surpasses knowledge. Something about that baffles me. It’s even a slap in the face (in a good way), telling me that no amount of rationalization can actually contain, limit, or box how God’s love actually makes me feel– what God’s love actually means.

How irrational. It knows no bounds. Love that does not think, but just feels. Love that is willing. Willing to risk all things just to have me back.

In God’s language, it’s actually not about how smart you are or how many verses you know in the Bible. But, the true test of your Christianity is how much you love.

To what extent do you love like Christ?

1 Corinthians 13:4–7

“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

Christ’s love is beyond knowledge. It just does. I cannot comprehend it, as I shouldn’t.
