On Kingdom Calls & Genuine Acceptance

I’m a very simple girl because I’ve found to love the simple things in life. I feel content with finding my purpose and living it out; I love honoring God, while having a best friend in Him. I found my ultimate satisfaction in Him.

However, big kingdom calls scare me. After all, as I’ve said, I am just a simple girl. So, imagine my experience when the God of the whole universe decides to drop an impression too extravagant for me to handle. I panic. I plunge into denial. Because there’s nothing simple about being called a kingdom agent nor a world changer. There’s nothing simple about waking up and attending to life or death situations. There’s nothing simple about being an active Christian. It’s all complex and it all means something.

My philo prof was wrong in relaying a philosophical thought that life is meaningless and God is showing that to me now. But, who would blame her? It is easier that way. It is easier to cope with the thought that nothing matters.

But, no. My actions mean something, as they always have; everyone’s actions mean something. A simple prayer can have ripple effects on the life of a person. A humble expression can bless someone. A familiar revelation can literally be life or death to a person. I wasn’t born in this world to just exist; I was born for Him and it takes a very certain revelation to live by it. Praise God for giving me such revelation!

So, what can I say now? After running as far away as possible, God has managed to track me down and remind me of my calling again. He has a habit of doing that. I am a very simple girl who has yet to be reminded of her love for this God- that despite the hesitance to respond or despite the tedious process of acceptance, what matters is obedience. For it has always been and will always be mainly about her and her God.
