What is love? Is it something you feel? Is it something you do? Is it something you talk about? We dream of finding love– of being right smack in the middle of it. To love and be loved.
Does love feel like peace? Does it feel like assurance? Does love make you laugh– carry your baggage when it gets too heavy? Does love make sure you’re safe back home? Does love call and say “I love you”? Does it toil all day just to bond with you– make you happy?
Love is intentional. Love works hard to sustain a life together. Love builds; it does not tear down. Love feels, but it also works. Love builds.
When I was little, I dreamt of finding love. When I met Love Himself– God Himself– I became love myself.
It was around 2 weeks ago, when his love met me. Flawed, not perfect, but calming. Reassuring. The kind of love that feels like peace. That feels like reassurance. The kind of love that makes sure you are loved in all the right ways.
Flawed, still? Might be. But it is a love that functions– a love that progresses.
It is the love that feels like peace. And if there’s anything I’d like love to be, it’s just that.
