Fight for your calling

I was in between play and work when, for some apparent reason, there was a disruption. You see, I used to enjoy moments before work. I loved working part-time and whenever I wanted. Perks of being a freelancer, I guess.

But, there was something about the call I had with my superior that made me question if this was still the path that was for me. Don’t get me wrong, there were internal issues within the organization. But, I took these things as a sign to go to the Lord and pray.

Proverbs 19:21 (ESV)

“Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.”

There it was– the confirmation I was waiting for. It was time to leave yet again.

Nobody dared tell me how one can get attached to her job. In my case, I loved my job. I loved the freedom it brought. I loved the work I did. I even loved the people at one point.

But, the Lord– the Lord has His way of redirecting.

“Fight for your calling”, the Lord says.

And I do admit I have been very lax at where He truly wanted me. To be honest, I was ready to delve into that path. But, God said “no” to this.

All things work together for good. And being triggered to leave was a redirect.

What do I leave you with? In a world of constant comfort, immediate gratification, and distractions, we have to fight for our calling. For it is the very reason we were placed here on earth for. It is the very reason why we’re here.

I was in between play and work when a disruption occurred. I’m now grateful that it was a good one.
