I sit before you today, with no words. Just overwhelming gratitude to the Almighty for my labor has not been in vain– that there was a point behind every righteous indignation, behind every pruning season. All to sharpen me and to birth change through me, as it has resonated with the world around me. All because of a Word I’ve received from the Lord.
Jeremiah 29:7 (ESV)
“But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.”
For years, we have toiled. May it be through prayers or in action, we have sought the welfare of the city because we love our city and our nation. We have cried, we have volunteered, we have sacrificed.
And it actually feels surreal to witness something in our world shift because of what God had originated in our hearts to do– to see the fruition of His purposes partly because of our obedience. To hear the cries and sentiments of the people and to act as God’s servant in enacting His plans and purposes here on earth.
It’s an honor. It’s a privilege.
My heart is overwhelmed in a good way. And there’s more to come in Him– asking God what is next after these victories.
1 Corinthians 15:58 (ESV)
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain”
For now, let us celebrate. For our labor in the Lord is not in vain.
