“Everything must unravel first before it can come to peace.” -God
I sit on my chair. It seems like a normal day. Except it was not. News was extra depressing. And it all seems like it’s going to hell.
“Lord, ano po ito? What is happening?”
I sit on my chair and God whispers:
“Everything must unravel first before it can come to peace.” -God
Now, He reminds me with this verse with the succeeding verse as the context:
Matthew 10:34
“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.”
Matthew 10:37 ESV
“Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.”
Following Jesus may disrupt the illusive peace we have. For some time now, we have turned a blind eye to the wrong things we see in the world. Now that we’re standing up for what is right (while following God for some), everything seems like it’s going to hell.
But, God Himself predicted this already. And there is a cost in following Christ.
Matthew 10:38 ESV
“And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me (Jesus Christ).”
What God promises is true peace, His peace:
John 14:27 (ESV)
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
“Everything must unravel first before it can come to peace.” – God
May this remind us that God is in control. Amen.
