a gender orientation is secondary

Our LGBTQIA+ is seeking validation regarding what they have and are experiencing. That they have these feelings and sensations towards the same kind. That they are different from what society expects them to be. They have aspirations. They have desires. They, too, wish for a world that does not condemn them for being different.

In a way, I can relate with that. I, too, have experienced being different in that way. I once identified as bisexual, having desires and attractions that were considered abnormal by society and most especially the church.

I sense that a lot of people are asking me what my stand on the SOGIE bill is. Am I for it? Am I against it?

But, what I can say is I currently relate with the LGBTQIA+ with their desire of wanting a different life or different world– where every voice is valid. And where love is unconditional despite every possible difference.

Note that I was bisexual, but I chose to love God more than my gender orientation. Because living for the Gospel is living beyond just myself. It’s for the cause of Christ.

And if you know Christ the way I do– how He loves me despite all my unlovable parts– how He welcomes me with loving arms despite how much I sin– how He really is so undeniably good– a gender orientation is just a gender orientation.

Because He loves me, sees me, calls me His own, I will live for Him.

A gender orientation is secondary. If you are called to live and witness for Him, He will take care of you.
